Time Management: Path to Productivity
According to Dr. Caitlin Nevins, Director of psychological services shares that too much busyness can lead to not tending to our basic needs such as eating, sleeping, social connection and therefore can lead to physical and emotional burnout.
Based on research in the Journal of Work and Occupations there is a correlation between an employee’s time management and their engagement at work. It should come as no surprise that with employee’s carrying more of a work load this encroaches into people’s personal lives. The boundaries between work and home have be- come blurred and even more so since the Covid-19 pandemic.

OUTCOMES
This time management workshop is designed to help individuals learn how to effectively manage their time and increase productivity. The workshop will focus on identifying time-wasting activities, prioritizing tasks, and creating a schedule that works for each individual’s needs. Participants will learn techniques for setting goals, managing distractions, and handling interruptions, all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
OBJECTIVES
- Learn how to identify time-wasting activities and eliminate them from daily routines
- Develop strategies for prioritizing tasks and setting achievable goals
- Understand how to effectively manage distractions and avoid interruptions
- Learn techniques for creating a schedule that works for individual needs
- Develop skills for maintaining a healthy work-life balance
- Identify and address common obstacles to effective time management, such as procrastination and electronic communication
PARTICIPANT MATERIALS
Participants will complete a self-evaluation on their time management and productivity. Discover if you are a time management ninja or if you have room for improvement- your stretches. The survey will provide strategies to address your “stretches” so you can set a plan of action moving forward.
